A chiropractic students's story on her journey to becoming a chiropractor - from IMU, Malaysia to RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia.
In 2017, six high achieving FiS students won IMU scholarships to pursue their undergraduate degree. Ivana Tiffany Berenai Mason’s interest in a career as a clinical psychologist started when she was researching about the anxieties that she was going through, where to get help and how to reduce the anxieties. This interest led her to enrol herself into the Psychology programme at IMU in 2009 as the first step towards achieving this career. Ivana is currently working at the Sarawak General Hospital.
To get closer to his goal of becoming a Chiropractor, Yap Junyan did some research and found out that the only university in Malaysia that offers a chiropractic programme was IMU. At that time, IMU was just starting their new Foundation in Science (FiS) programme and for a smoother transition between foundation and degree, he decided to join the FiS programme. Junyan has since left Malaysia to begin his studies in RMIT University, Australia for completion of his chiropractic degree.
