10 Sep 2020 An Informative Course for Preparation of MRCOG Part 2 Exam

This year, due to the restrictions imposed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, the IMU MRCOG Edge Part 2 Prep Exam course was organised as an online CPD session on 8 & 9 August 2020. The 2-day course was delivered via the Zoom platform with the intended learning outcomes to include understanding the standard of the required knowledge and learning the key aspects of the curriculum required for preparation of MRCOG Part 2 Exam.

An 2-day online CPD course - IMU MRCOG Edge Part 2 Prep Exam course - delivered via Zoom.

32 participants, including 7 alumni attended this course, earning each participant 8 CPD points as awarded by MMA. These participants were mainly Medical Officers of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Ministry of Health and University hospitals around Malaysia. Fortunately, there were no technical difficulties encountered during the course as the participants had a stable internet connectivity throughout the course.

Day 1 of the course had lectures delivered by experts in core modules of the MRCOG syllabus. It was an interactive session with poll questions at the end of each topic. The participants also had the opportunity to discuss a wide range of questions with these experts.

Day 2 was a mock exam with two papers similar to the main exam, a hands-opportunity for the participants to experience the ambiance of a real exam. Following the mock exam was a detailed feedback session on questions of the exam.

The course received good feedback with 2 of the participants rating the course highly and them welcoming more of such courses in future as it is beneficial in their preparation of their Part 2 course.

Participants’ Comments on the Workshop
• Very helpful for those attempting the exam.
• Was very useful and informative…..not enough time to cover everything.
• Very useful and affordable compared to other similar courses around. In fact this course has motivated me to study. Dr Kavitha is an excellent educator especially when it comes to MRCOG exams.
• It was really packed with information.
• Excellent, given the circumstances (with the need for an online course in view of COVID). Some breaks would have been helpful , but I understand we were short of time.
